From Russia with Love
Ian Fleming

A Game of Thrones
George R. R. Martin
Whilst the TV adaptation made me aware of the books, I enjoyed the books so much due to their expansive character development and sprawling plot lines.

The Great Gatsby
F. Scott Fitzgerald
I first read this when I was at secondary school, and I have read it again several times since. I enjoy the story, the characters, the decadence of the roaring 1920's, and the knowledge that the good times will not be long-lasting.

George Orwell
I have only read this recently, but I enjoyed it immensely and I can see why it is a dystopian classic.
