In our 3/18/2021 Battle with Cuyahoga County Public Library, book critic Donna Seaman told our audience why this "jazzy, many-faceted, many-voiced work, fanatically detailed and rife with tangents and rabbit holes" deserves to be on the list of Books to Read Before You Die (and brought back into print). It's "a frenetic journal whose fictional narrator reflects on life, death, reincarnation, love and betrayal, racism, the toxic abuse of charm and power, cultural shifts, and artistic integrity—all this with exuberant humor and cascading tragedy."
